Crackdown on motoring offences

Police across Carrick have been cracking down on offending motorists over recent weeks.

On one day in Maybole on Thursday February 26 they reported three drivers for different offences.

A 61 year old female was reported for allegedly driving otherwise in accordiance with a licence and driving a motor vehicle without the consent of the owner.

A 26 year old female was reported to the fiscal for keeping a motor vehicle and driving without insurance and failing to provide details to the police.

Police also reported a 36 year old male for allegedly driving otherwise in accordiance with a licence in the High Street on that day.

Officers in South Carrick have also reported a 17 year old male for allegedly driving otherwise in accordiance with a licence and with no insurance in Girvan on March 2.

Two speeding incidents were also reported by officers in Carrick with a 42 year old male set to be reported to the fiscal for allegedly speeding through the village of Barrhill on the A714.

A 60 year old male was reported for allegedly speeding and driving without a MOT on Maidens Road, Turnberry on Wednesday March 4.
