A home and garden centre in Ballantrae has signed a deal with the UK’s leading supermarket to provide a click and collect service to customers.
Craigiemains Home and Garden centre which is located in the main street in the village have joined up with Tesco to offer villagers the chance to pick up their groceries after ordering them via Tesco’s online service.
The supermarket’s click and collect service means that people living in remote areas won’t have to travel to the supermarket to collect their items.
Customers using the new collection point at Craigiemains will have easy access to the full range of groceries that are available as all items will be hand-picked from a nearby Tesco Extra or Superstore and driven to the Tesco collection point.
Groceries will then be stored in a temperature controlled van until the customer arrives to collect their order, which can be any time during their chosen time slot.
The service is now fully operational at Craigiemains and is part of Tesco’s commitment to improving rural life.
Collection times vary by location; see www.tesco.com/groceries for more details and to book a collection slot.
Orders can be placed and amended up until 11pm the night before collection and collection is free for orders over £25 (see website for terms and conditions).
Other new click and collection points opened up by Tesco include the Galloway Motor company in Minnigaff near Newton Stewart and at the Sandmill MOT centre at the Blackparks Industrial estate in Stranraer.
