An eight year old girl from Dailly took it upon herself to stand up to cancer over the October holidays.

Demi-Leigh Brown a pupil of Dailly primary school carried out a series of fundraising events and managed to raise a whopping £500 for the cause.

During her break from school, the youngster carried out a bag pack, a raffle and she also sold baking at the school for a two day period.

The remarkable youngster wasn’t finished there though and also walked 4.7 miles to raise funds and she also helped raise funds at a Halloween party.

Demi Leigh did all this to raise money to help her teacher of three years, Mrs Torbett who has been diagnosed with the disease.
