Drop in for windfarm fund

Local projects will receive a boost this month when Hadyard Hill Community Benefit Fund begins a series of drop-in surgeries in the three communities of Barr, Dailly and Pinmore/Pinwherry.

The Fund distributes community benefit money it receives from Scottish and Southern Energy and has invested over £1.25 million in local projects since it was set up in 2006.

Village Development Worker, Catriona Haston, explained: “The Directors of the Fund are keen to make sure that everyone in the three communities knows about the funding that we can provide and that people with ideas for projects get all the help they need to develop their ideas and make those projects happen.

“So, starting this month I will be holding open surgeries on a monthly basis in Barr Community Stores, Dailly Community Centre and Pinwherry Village Hall. I hope that any community group in the three HHCBF communities with a project in mind, or even just the germ of an idea, will come along and meet me on the dates below.

“I will be able to help people to develop projects, advise on sources of funding and help with the application forms and paperwork.”

The times and dates for the funding surgeries for the next three months are:

Barr Community Stores; February 12, 10am–12noon; March 4, 6–7pm; March 12, 10am–12noon; April 9, 10am–12noon.
