After 20 years as head of Girvan Primary school head teacher Paige Paterson has bade an emotional farewell to the school.
An assembly at the school last week heard an emotional speech from the outgoing and much loved head teacher.
Mrs Paterson praised the staff and students for their attitude and their ethos of mutual respect.
She said: “Coming here every day has been more than just a job.
“It has been a great privilege to work with wonderful staff, dedicated parents and great children.”
A presentation was also made by representatives of the school’s parent council to Mrs Paterson.
When the assembled pupils were invited to cheer for their departing head teacher the response was an emotional and deafening roar as hundreds of voices rose in unison.
