There’s an exciting line up of events for this year’s Civic Week in Girvan.
The crowning of the Carrick King and Queen takes place at 1.45pm in Duncan Street on the Gig on the Green platform on Sunday, June 24.
After the crowning there is a themed parade through the town - this year it’s the Olympics.
There is also a car boot sale which takes place at 12pm in Louisa Drive in front of the Westcliffe Hotel with various stalls, games, tombola and a raffle.
The Pet Show takes place in front of the Westcliffe Hotel in Louisa Drive at 6.30pm on Tuesday, June 26. There are about ten different categories eg. looks most like owner and waggiest tale.
Each category is 50p to enter and are judged by local vet Allan Jeans.
All the prizes and rosettes are kindly donated by the Pet Shop.
The Senior Citizens Party is held in the Catholic Hall at 2pm on Wednesday, June 27.
You can get your ticket from the C.A.N office (Community Action Network) free of charge. Entry by ticket only. At the party there are all different types of musicians and singers with afternoon tea.
The Car Treasure Hunt starts in the Harbour car park at 6pm on Thursday, June 28.
The entry fee is £5. As you go round Girvan and the surronding area you will follow clues and eventually come back to the Westcliffe Hotel where you can get a cuppa and the winning teams receive their trophies.
