Fairtrade day in Carrick

LAST Saturday Maybole’s Carrick Centre was the venue for a Fairtrade tea and coffee morning with lots of home baking.

Justine Watalunga, a Fairtrade coffee farmer from Uganda, gave a presentation about her life and work in her home country.

Mrs Watalunga, who has been touring the south-west of Scotland, also spoke about the difference Fairtrade makes to her and her community.

The event was sponsored by the Carrick Centre, who use Fairtrade goods whenever possible.
