Girvan Community Garden is taking part in a Royal Horticultural Society event which is taking place all over the country on Sunday, April 14.

The garden has been given free seeds as part of ‘Edible Britain - It’s Your Neighbourhood’.

After 1pm anyone can come along to sow, grow and take the produce home in a few months time!

You will be allocated a small section in the raised bed in the garden to grow your seeds.

Families are most welcome to come along and take part. We will also be having our first ever sunflower competition for the kids too. Let’s see who can grow the biggest!

Come along and see what it is all about.

You will find us just off Knockcushan Street next to the Avairy.

Also this week Asda Girvan, in partnership with Fields in Trust, a charity that protects and improves local outdoor spaces, has donated a rose to the garden.

Asda Store Manager, Matthew Lawton and Community Life Champion, Sharon Adams came to the community garden recently to plant the new rose to celebrate the work that has taken place over the years in the community garden.
