Girvan Motor cycle enthusiasts Carol Baillie and Sheryl McCurdie are gearing up for a three day motorbike run to raise money for a cancer charity.
Carol Baillie and Sheryl McCurdie will cover 450 miles on next month’s run which will taken them through some of Scotland’s finest scenery ending up on the shores of Loch Lomond.
It’s all in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support’s, ‘Breast Way Round’ event which celebrates its 6th anniversary and has already raised over £200,000 for breast cancer support since its inception. The run is confined to lady motorbikers although a small number of male enthusiasts is allowed to take part to show their support.
The convoy will depart from Rugby Park, home of Kilmarnock FC on Friday,24th May and the route will take the riders through some stunning scenery including Dunoon, Inverary, and Oban, where they will have their first overnight stop. Day two will find them heading to Fort William with the final day takes them through the magnificent scenery of Glencoe for their final stop by the Bonny Bonny Banks.
Needless to say, Carol and Cheryl wouldn’t be able to do the run without the help of friends, family and other sponsors, so it you want to help in raising money for their chosen good cause you can donate at www.justgiving.com/BWR2013. More details are also available at www.breastwayround.com
