Girvan branch celebrates

The Girvan branch of UK Arthritis held a lunch at Malin Court in Maidens on Sunday 7th February with 123 people sitting down to the meal.

Chairperson Mrs Liz McIntyre welcomed everyone to the lunch.

Two ladies of the committee , Mrs Isobel shennan and Liz McIntyre were presented with a certificate for thirty years service to this charity. Both are founder members.

Mrs Irene Andrews very kindly made a 30th anniversary cake and the Isobel and Liz were invited to cut it before the lunch started.

The after dinner speaker was Dr Tom Smith from Poundland, Pinwherry.

Dr Smith spoke about his time as a doctor within Ayrshire, his travelling experiences and his books which he has written.

Everyone enjoyed his stories and light hearted tales about his experiences.

Fiona McFadzean secretary, presented Tom with a bottle of whisky for coming along and entertaining everyone.

Mrs Margaret Logan ,committee member thanked all the committee for all their hard work organising this event.

After coffee a raffle was drawn .

The committee would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for coming along and supporting this cause, and to all people, business’s etc etc for their donations.

A big thank you to you all.!

The total profit made was approx £2000.
