The chieftain of the 32nd Carrick Lowland Gathering this year will be South Ayrshire Provost Helen Moonie.

Whatever the weather, we know the atmosphere will be one of pleasure in meeting friends old and new.

This year there will be the pipe band contest, heavy events, Highland dancing, stalls and lots more fun at Victory Park on Sunday, June 2 from 11.45am.

Provost Helen Moonie said: “As Provost of South Ayrshire Council I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone attending the 2013 Carrick Lowland Gathering in Girvan.

“It is a great honour to be invited to be your Chieftain of the Carrick Lowland Gathering. The Gathering has become an established event in South Ayrshire, attracting local people, and very importantly attracting visitors from all over South Ayrshire and beyond. This is a real community event that has come to fruition through the enthusiasm of the organisers, who have worked tirelessly. They have prepared an exciting programme of events, and I would like to pass on my congratulations.”
