Girvan girl does sponsored dip for Comic Relief

A GIRVAN girl got her pals together to raise some Red Nose Day cash last week as she organised a “dip and run” for the 2013 Comic Relief appeal.

Atlanta Wilson joined groups across the area who took part in events to raise money for Children in Need during Red Nose Day.

“A group of us ran from Girvan beach park up round the monument and back down, then we took a plunge in the sea,” she said.

“Four of us decided to take things further and go for a swim – even my little sister, Thalia, who is aged just five, got in on the action.

“I couldn’t feel my arms when I got out, but it was all worth it. Between us we raised £217.30, which will help saves lives in Africa.

“I would like to say a big thank you to all those who braved the winter cold to take part with me, Nicole, Bryony, Alison, Robyn, Aaron, Charli, Sommer, and Reef, and of course the crowd that gathered to cheer us on,” Atlanta added.
