Girvan motorcyclist dies in road accident

A 57 year-old Girvan man has died after the motorbike he was riding was in collision with a van in the town on Sunday, August 23.

William McCutcheon, of Park Road in Girvan, was driving his Suzuki on Coalpots Road in Girvan at around 10.30am on Sunday morning, when it was involved in a crash with a Ford Transit van being driven by a 23 year-old man.

Emergency services attended but Mr McCutcheon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver of the van was uninjured but badly shaken as a result of the crash.

A full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.
