He said: “Building work is planned to begin in January 2016 as long as we have financial agreement on the project which is scheduled for November/December 2015.

“Barring any hold ups, including the weather, which we can’t control, the building should be finished by March 2017.”

A further step forward for the project will be a planning permission application.

Andrew said: “A planning application is ready to be submitted but we were advised the consideration of it would be quicker if a traffic assessment were to be submitted.

“That is under way and as soon as it’s completed the application will hopefully be lodged with the council before the end of the month.”

Andrew says that it wouldn’t have been financially viable just to build a pool.

He told us : “Yes, we could have built just a pool, however that on its own would not be financially viable.

“Now the plans are coming together we need the community to get behind us and be ready to use the facility when it is opened.”

He also says costs put paid to a pool for toddlers.

He explained: “To have a toddlers pool we would need a separate system to heat and filter the water in the pool and also have more lifeguards at poolside to keep swimmers safe.
