There was a good turnout at the first football memories event in Girvan.

An inaugural football memories day at the Girvan Townhouse on Thursday December 3 attracted over 20 people to the event.

The event was funded by the Integrated Care Fund and was supported by Alzheimer Scotland and the Ayr United Football Academy.

Girvan Town Team’s Roddy Macdonald said: “It was a wonderful event. Photographs of legends of the Old Firm, Hearts, Motherwell and even Ayr provided stimulus for conversation, laughter and at times controversy.”

A further event is planned for Thursday January 14 at 3pm in the Girvan Townhouse where anyone is welcome to come.
