South Ayrshire Council is hosting a drop in session at Girvan Library on Thursday 12 June from 2pm-7pm.
The five hour drop in session will allow you to give your views to the council about how proposed new housing sites in the area should be developed.
The sites have been identified in the South Ayrshire Local Development Plan (LDP) which is a ten year planning document which sets out how the council sees development in the future.
Maps of the housing sites will be available to view and officers from the Planning Service will be on hand to discuss ideas and help you with making your contribution.
The Scottish Government is still examining the LDP and will make a final decision soon on which sites should be released for development.
The Council is looking for ideas and local knowledge from local communities to help produce site briefs, which would help guide high-quality development of the proposed housing sites (if they were released for such development) and help make attractive, accessible and inclusive communities – to ‘make better places’.
Jill Cronin, the Council’s Head of Enterprise, Development and Leisure said: “The drop-in sessions are friendly, relaxed and aimed at asking local people what they consider to be important in the development of local housing in their communities.
“We all want to live in high-quality houses that offer the best for us and our families, as well as living in communities where we can make a contribution and feel valued. That’s exactly what we aim to achieve through the Local Development Plan and I’d urge anyone interested in the proposed development sites to come and have a look.”
