Epilepsy Scotland are encouraging residents in and around Ayrshire to attend an information event.
Staff will be at the Burns Shopping Mall, Kilmarnock, from 11am until 3pm on July 12 to listen to your questions. You can pick up a free Epilepsy Scotland guide and find out more about Epilepsy Scotland’s freephone confidential helpline and website packed with epilepsy information.
Epilepsy affects one in 97 people, and around 2800 people in Ayrshire and Arran have the condition. Epilepsy Scotland provides training in understanding and managing epilepsy, helps raise awareness by giving talks to schools and community groups, campaigns for better healthcare for people with epilepsy, and is lobbying health boards - including Ayrshire and Arran - to increase the number of specialist nurses in Scotland.
An Epilepsy Scotland spokesperson said: “Our contact team are keen to meet people in your area and we’re encouraging people living in and around Ayrshire to find out more about epilepsy. It is a great opportunity to meet your local epilepsy specialist nurse and find out more about local services. We look forward to seeing you there!”
