Hospice holds ninth waggy tail walk

Ayrshire Hospice held its ninth annual Waggy Tail Walk on Sunday, June 17 and the event raised in excess of £6,000.

The weather was a bit dull but we were lucky ... no rain! We are extremely grateful to over 80 dogs and their owners who came along for a leisurely stroll along the River Ayr to support the Hospice.

The event was sponsored by Hollow Park Veterinary Surgery, Lawersbridge Boarding and Day Kennels and T&G Hutchison Pet Supplies & Animal Feeds who for the ninth year have donated goody bags for all of our four legged walkers.

Staff at Gribbens Taxis were most generous and raised the fantastic sum of £862.80 this included sponsorship monies and drivers donating their day’s takings.

Meg Peacock, Jeannie Maxwell and Pat Allsop from Ballantrae made an 80 mile round trip to join in the walk and raised £195 and we are delighted to announce that Gribbens Taxis have matched their sponsor money.

This is the eighth year Gribbens Taxis have participated in the Waggy Tail Walk and over this time have raised a staggering £10,770 for the Ayrshire Hospice.

All monies raised from this walk will go directly towards helping to provide Hospice care and services at no cost to patients and their families.
