THEY might be small businesses - but they’ve got big hearts, that was the message from Kay Hewitson of Girvan RNLI ahead of the town’s Harbour Gala on Sunday.
Kay is urging people from far and wide to come along to the harbour on Sunday for a fun-packed afternoon all in aid of the Girvan Lifeboat Station.
Festivities get under way just before noon with the arrival of Girvan’s Civic Queen to perform the official opening ceremony.
And Kay is hoping the sun shines for this year’s gala to bring out the crowds.
“I’m saying a wee prayer every night for good weather,” said Kay. “Come along and join in the fun. There’s lots going on and plenty for the kids to do.
“There’s a tombola and a great raffle with some fantastic prizes donated by local businesses who have been so kind.
“They always support us really well and we are very grateful.
“But we are expecially grateful this year as we know everything is quite tight for businesses.
“Some of them are only small businesses but they have big hearts.”
There will also be car boot stalls, BBQ, Owl Magic, a bottle stall and much more!
