Girvan Community Garden has received a financial boost from global telecommunications company TalkTalk, which will sponsor the garden for the next 12 months.
The funding will be used to enable community work within the grounds to continue over the winter months.
The volunteer run garden, provides an outside space for the residents of the town to enjoy all year round.
Alongside the sponsorship, TalkTalk has also invested £50,000 in technology to bring “best value” broadband offers to Girvan.
The company has expanded its Next Generation network in the area, which it says will give customers access to “fast, reliable broadband services for all of the family’s needs”.
Julie Campbell from The Community Garden Group said: “The Community Garden provides the people of Girvan with a friendly venue to socialise and relax and we run many events for people of all ages.
“The support of TalkTalk is fantastic and will allow us to hire a Mongolian yurt and host more workshops for the community to enjoy.”
Tristia Clarke, Commercial Director at TalkTalk said: “Investing in the local area allows us to bring our great value offers to even more families in Girvan and we are proud to be supporting the fantastic work being done at the Community Garden.
“They are at the heart of the community and we wish them every success with their endeavours over the coming months.”
