Girvan Lifeboat station received a cheque for £500 on Monday 8th July.

This was after a fun day at Dj Dunabie Caravan Park on Saturday 6th where great fun was had by all.

Entertainment took place in the form of children’s games, dancing and raffles whilst food was made by residents of the site in Maidens.

The organisers of the event were keen to support the lifeboat station and the RNLI due to the site enjoying wonderful sea views. The caravan park have recently incorporated the old milllodge in Maidens into the site which boasts space for fantastic new lodges.

From the park, residents enjoy easy access to Maidens Harbour with many of those on the site also having boats moored at the harbour. Furthermore, the tractor at the beach can still launch boats from the site.

The lifeboat may never have been used but those on the site know that it is there if they ever require it. This is why the organisers wanted to donate to the station.

Girvan Lifeboat Station are always on the lookout for new crew volunteers and in particular those who can assist with fundraising days or manning the station shop for a few hours.

Anyone who is interested should contact the lifeboat station or pop down to the station on Monday’s around 6.45 where crew will be able to give you more information about what is invoolved.
