Girvan enjoyed a “wheely” good Gala Parade on Sunday.

This year the Girvan and District Attractions Committee asked cars, bikes, scooters, trikes, roller skates, mobility scooters, skateboards and remote control cars to all join in the parade.

At 1.30pm there was the crowning of Queen Emily and King Daniel with their attendants, lady-in-waiting Lianne and squire Fraser.

There was also a car boot sale, stalls and children’s entertainments.

Civic week continues with the Senior Citizens Party tonight (Wednesday, June 25), the car treasure hunt at the Harbour Car Park at 6pm on Thursay, June 26, whilst Friday evening sees the final of the bowling competition.

And for sport lovers there is also plenty to get excited about with the Civic Week Cup running each evening at Victory Park. There are also dominoes and pool competitions which are a regular feature of Civic Week.
