Boxer punches girlfriend

A professional boxer from Stranraer had his sentence deferred for reports by Sheriff Kenneth Robb after admitting assaulting his partner and another woman at a nightspot in the town.

Paul Allison, 23, of 11 Mount Vernon Road, admitted assaulting Nikki Wilson after forcing open a toilet cubicle door in the Bar Pazzerello in George Street, repeatedly punching her, pushing her to the ground and continuing to punch and kick her when she was on the ground. He also admitted assaulting Olive Couper in the same place when repeatedly pushing her and punching her to her injury.

He will return for sentencing on October 23.
