P7 at Gardenrose Primary in Maybole held its annual Burns Supper last week and invited some well-known local guests including local school crossing patrollers. Also attending were family and friends of the pupils.
Paul Thomson was the host and welcomed everyone after the top table had been piped in by P4 class teacher Jennifer Wilson.
Ms Wilson also the piped in the haggis which was ably addressed by Declan Gardner.
Zoe Inglis recited the Selkirk Grace before the meal of haggis, neeps, tatties and steak pie with a vegetarian option also available.
Afterwards, Holly MacDonald recited To a Louse and Abbie Alexander sang Ye Banks and Braes and then it was time for the Immortal Memory which was proposed by Jenna Milligan, Louise Moore and Jade Ritchie.
Grace Pitman-Ross recited Tam o’Shanter followed by Zoe Lamont and Holly MacDonald singing Wild Mountainside.
Joseph Gracie and Owen Grant jointly proposed the Toast tae the Lassies and then some P7 pupils displayed their dancing abilities.
The reply to the Lassies toast was by Holly MacDonald and Amber Milligan and then it was time for a comprehensive vote of thanks by Paul Thomson.
Head teacher Jennifer Richardson thanked P7 for the wonderful job they had done and presented awards to the finalists in the recent poetry and song competitions.
