Bursary for places on windfarm course

SNP MSP Adam Ingram MSP has welcomed the announcement from Carrick Futures of a £3000 bursary for Carrick people who secure places on the new Wind Turbine Technician course which is being offered by Ayr College.

Commenting on the news Mr Ingram said: “This is a great opportunity for those in the local Carrick area looking to train in the renewables sector.

“Locally we have seen an increase in the number of wind turbines being erected and they will need maintained over a considerable period of time, however this does open up the opportunity for local people to secure well paid long term employment.

“I would encourage those thinking about a career in renewables to contact Ayr College for further information and not to delay as there are just 12 places available.”
