Cairnryan murder accused in second court date

A WOMAN charged with the murder of a Cairnryan pensioner on Christmas Day has made her second appearance in court.

Christina Mary Dane Slooves or Biggar, 55, from Cairnryan, appeared before Stranraer Sheriff Court on Friday January 4 charged with the murder of 65-year-old George Potts and attempting to pervert the course of justice. She made no plea or declaration, was fully committed and remanded in custody.

A Crown Office spokesperson said James Potts, 62, from Ballantrae, who appeared in court on December 27 on charges related to Mr Potts’ death, had been liberated pending further investigation prior to full committal on Friday.
