Carrick Rugby’s under 18 team are heading out to Italy for a tour in April next year but require help to ensure they get there.

A fundraising committee has been organised for the trip which will see the youngsters take on three Italian teams during their stay in the Lake Garda area of Milan.

And today (Thursday) will see fundraisers meet with potential sponsors for the tour.

The fundraising has started with stalls at Gala Days, bag packing and a charity shop in Maybole. An Italian themed night is also planned to be held at Dalduff Farm in September.

Their Christmas dinner is on 13 December in Maybole Town Hall so why not bring along your work colleagues to it.

And the club are actively seeking sponsorship for the tour as well with gold, silver and bronze packages available.

The gold package costing £2,500 gives a company a chance to have their name or logo on the tour shirts on an exclusive basis as well as a full page advert in the tour programme which will be distributed in Italy and Scotland.

The silver package at £1,500 will put your company’s logo or name on the tour kit excluding the shirt as well as in a half page programme advert.

And the bronze package for £500 offers you a an opportunity to showcase your company logo or name on all promotional materials for the tour including a quarter page programme advert.

Carrick rugby is a real community club and the team features players from Girvan, Dailly and Barr as well as Maybole and the Academy’s team joins with Girvan Academy to field girls and boys teams.

Over 180 pupils of all ages at Carrick Academy now play rugby and the team heading out to Italy have been strong units since starting out as first years.

Now this trip hopes to give them experience of Italian rugby and a different culture as well as new friendships.
