We all want to get the best deal on our energy bills, but is the deal you are being offered too good to be true? South Ayrshire Council is asking people to think before signing up to any energy efficiency deals.
Councillor John McDowall, Environment and Sustainability Portfolio Holder for the Council said: “Many reputable companies offer opportunities to get free or discounted energy efficiency measures, unfortunately there are some disreputable companies, trying to cash in on people who want to save money.
“Often representatives from these companies turn up on the doorsteps of vulnerable households and offer people what seem to be tremendous savings and then persuade them to sign up to contracts that don’t offer good value for money.
“If an offer seems too good to be true then it probably is. So don’t rush to sign anything.”
