Health Coach Claire Rogerson, of NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s Public Health Team, leads the way on one of Ailsa Hospital’s woodland walks, encouraged by Commonwealth Games mascot Clyde

A hardy team from NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s Public Health department are taking steps towards becoming more physically active – 602,000 steps each, in fact.

The 35-strong team have pledged to get Fit in ’14, and have taken their inspiration from the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games by signing up to walk the distance from Sydney to Glasgow – a distance of 10,535 miles (or 21,070,000 steps). Workplace teams across Ayrshire and Arran who would like to make their own Fit in ’14 pledge can go www.fitin14.org/pledge.
