Girvan’s Harbour Gala takes place this Sunday 13th July from 12pm-4pm and it promises to be another fantastic occasion.
At midday the King and Queen from Girvan Civic Week will arrive as is customary on the lifeboat before there is music from local band Zephyr at 12.30pm.
Dancing by Chi-Kaz school of dancers is sure to keep the crowd entertained at 1pm.
At 1.15pm there will be a rowing boat demo out on the water from Carrick Coastal Rowing club before the exciting raft race begins at 1.30pm.
More music and dancing is the order of the day from 2pm-3pm with music from 2pm and Chi-Kaz entertaining again from 2.30pm.
At 3pm the RAF Helicopter will arrive and carry out its usual display to the delight of the crowd.
And for a finale a dog rescue display will be carried out by water safety team Aiyla Says at 3.30pm.
Along with all that, there will be lifeboat stalls, a funfair, car boot sale, a prize raffle, treasure map, owl magic, a climbing wall from Adventure Centre for Education and burgers, tea and coffee to keep everyone happy as well as the chance to soak the lifeboatman.
Emergency services including the Galloway Mountain Rescue team will be in attendance.
You also have the chance to win a Subaru BRZ. Draw tickets are £5 each and the winning ticket will be drawn at Troon’s Wintertainment on 16th November.
All proceeds on Girvan Harbour Gala go to the RNLI, the charity that saves lives at sea so come along and support your local lifeboat station on Sunday.

En route to Harbour Gala on 13th July – why not drop along to Car Boot Sale tables in aid of Breast Cancer Care Scotland at 6 Ailsa St West, Girvan between 11.30am and 1.30pm. Items include books, bric a brac, complete Wii game and loads more.
Girvan Community Garden is hosting afternoon teas. From 1-5pm on Sunday, July 13 there will be afternoon teas and boiled Ayrshire potatoes with spring onions and butter from the garden. Everyone is welcome to pop along to the community garden.
