Icy conditions predicted on Carrick roads
CARRICK road users are being warned to watch out as icy conditions set in.
After Met Office forecasters issued a yellow weather warning for snow in four out of five Scottish regions - including Strathclyde - for today (Monday), those journeying by car or public transport are being advised to beware as icy road conditions set in.
Icy stretches are expected to form on untreated surfaces - especially in areas affect by showers - from 4pm this afternoon and into Tuesday morning.
Showers will also continue to fall as snow on higher ground of western Scotland, and further accumulations of 2-5cm are predicted on ground above 200 metres in height.
Strathclyde is one of three regions in Scotland warned to be on yellow alert for ice - including the neighbouring southwest Scotland area - while southwest Scotland, Lothian Borders; Central, Tayside and Fife; Grampian; and Highlands and Eilean Siar have received their second consecutive warning for snow as accumulations of up to 10cm are expected in higher areas this evening.
