Maybole garage to “extend and upgrade”

PLANS to extend and upgrade a busy Carrick petrol station have been given the green light.

South Ayrshire Council’s Regulatory Panel for Planning last week approved an application from Maybole councillor Brian Connolly to extend BDC Fuels into a vacant adjacent property on School Vennel.

The petrol station and shop currently occupies 96 High Street, and the addition of 13 School Vennel to the premises would allow for extension and general upgrading according to planning documents - adding nearly 25sqm to the total trading space.

Pedestrian access will also be created via 13 School Vennel, an existing toilet block demolished, and a 1.8metre timber fence erected to screen a storage tank adjacent to the proposed access path.

Members of the panel said they were happy to approve the plans.
