Maybole man loses license after dangerous driving

A MAYBOLE man found guilty of dangerous driving has been fined £250 and disqualified for nine months.

Alexander Philip, 29, of Glenalla Road, Maybole, pled guilty to driving without due care and attention when he appeared before Ayr Sheriff Court on February 4.

Mr Philip was found guilty of having nearly caused a collision when, on September 16 2012, he attempted a U-turn at the entrance to Bridgemill Roundabout, Girvan.

According to the court, Mr Philip had also pursued a vehicle between Girvan Community Hospital and Curra Farm, flashed his lights at it and failed to remain at a safe distance.

Sheriff John Montgomery ordered Mr Philip to pay £250 and he will be disqualified from holding a driving licence until November.
