Maybole men in police drugs bust
ON THE BEAT: An eight-strong Strathclyde Police support unit operation conducted licensed premises checks in Girvan and Maybole on Friday February 22.
DRUGS offences have kept Carrick police busy in Maybole as two men are reported for possession.
One 36-year-old Maybole man was caught growing cannabis at his town centre property when officers conducted a warranted search at around 9pm on Thursday. He is expected to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court within the the next seven weeks.
And on Friday a second Maybole man was found in possession of cocaine in the Greenside area of the town.
The 27-year-old was caught with a small amount of the class A drug at around 9pm on Friday, when Strathclyde Police support unit officers working in Maybole as part of Ayrshire-wide Operation Myriad.
Officers stopped the man when he was observed acting suspiciously, and he was reported to the Procurator Fiscal under misuse of drugs legislation.
