Mixed feelings on council job satisfaction
EMPLOYEES at South Ayrshire Council are not all happy bunnies, despite satisfaction levels having increased in all areas.
The results of South Ayrshire Council’s employee satisfaction survey 2012 show a positive response overall, with some results more than 20 per cent higher than two years ago.
But of the 30 per cent of council workers who took part less than half agreed council services work well together, only 51 per cent agreed the council communicates honestly and effectively with staff, and just 53 per cent said they felt valued and respected as an employee.
Chief executive David Anderson thanked everyone who participated, and said: “While I’m pleased to see an improving picture, we know there is still work to be done.”
Council leader Bill McIntosh said it was encouraging to know employees are confident in raising issues, and to see an increase in positive responses.
