Sticky situation for Cairn kids

editorial image

PUPILS at Cairn Primary School are so stuck on their new pets that they’ve given them a brand new home.

Primary Two children at the school on Maybole’s Kirkland Street had been housing their seven stick insects and eggs in a net ‘house’.

But having grown from just 1 centimetre to about 7cm (so far!) their six-legged friends needed to upsize to a bigger home.

The children said they have really enjoyed watching the insects hatch out from tiny eggs, and continue to look after them by giving them fresh, washed ivy each week.
