Third time lucky for Turnberry restaurant

THINGS are looking rosy for Turnberry’s infant restaurant after receiving its third Rosette in only two years.

The James Miller Room, the resort’s newest contemporary dining experience whose namesake is none other than the original Turnberry Hotel architect, yesterday received its third AA Rosette in the annual awards.

Presented to only the top 10 per cent of restaurants in the AA Restaurant Guide, the eatery had to impress a visiting judge with its selection and treatment of ingredients and wines, timing and seasoning of food, and quality of service to secure the coveted prize.

The James Miller Room can now boast of being “outstanding” and worthy of recognition well beyond the local area.

Executive chef Justin Gallea said: “We’ve spent the last year perfecting our menu and approach at the James Miller Room and believe that we have created a very special place which combines the right ambience with first class food.

“In keeping with our approach across all our restaurants and bars, we are now sourcing upwards of 85 per cent of our produce from within a 40 mile radius of Turnberry. I believe that we’re as local as we can be without compromising on quality, taste and flavour.”

The James Miller Room is open Tuesday–Saturday from 7pm-9.30pm. To book call 01655 331000.
