A cavalcade of vintage tractors made its way to Barr on Sunday to help the village’s charity Teas volunteers raise money.

Members of the Ayrshire Vintage Tractor and Machinery Club braved squally showers to drive their machines to Barr where there was a fine turnout of visitors and locals to welcome them.

As well as being able to have a close look at the fine old mechanical workhorses they were also able to see a demonstration by sheepdog handlers and their animals.

As a result, the Barr Teas volunteers were run off their feet in the village hall with a record breaking turnout of people seeking the traditional Barr fare of tea and home baking.

When the last cup had been washed and put away, organiser Isobel Kay thanked the tractormen and women for their support for the bank holiday weekend effort on behalf of worthy causes.
