CARRICK has a new traffic warden patrolling the streets and the new man warned, "take the chance then take the risk."

Billy Sturgeon joins the police team in Carrick after spending the last four years as a special constable in Cumnock.

Some of you make recognise his voice, as he used to present a celidh music show on Westsound Radio before working as a community police officer.

He replaces former traffic warden Paddy Grace who moved to pastures new last year and stressed that if he sees vehicles parked in the wrong area he will ask questions.
