Woman to be reported after raid

POLICE in Girvan have praised the success of a drugs raid in the town's Gregg place.

A large police operation resulted in a stash of what is thought to be Class B and C drugs, along with a quantity of cash, being recovered from the home that was targeted by police last Friday afternoon at around 3.30pm.

A 34-year old woman is to be reported for six counts under the Misue of Drugs Act and will appear in court at a later date.

Police had been monitoring the house for some time and said they had been helped greatly by the Girvan public.

Sgt Hamilton said afterwards: "This was a great example of the community helping the police. The raid was the result of intelligence gathered over two years."
