Work starts on hospital extension

Work started last week on an extension to the Outpatients Department at University Hospital Ayr, following a review of Ayr community and outpatient services.

Services provided in the new extension will include outpatient clinics, community dental services and podiatry.

In preparation for the extension, Land Engineering Ltd, as part of the enabling works, is constructing a new access road to divert traffic so work can start. Work on the new road is due to be completed on Friday 8 March, with work on the extension scheduled to begin in early March 2013.

John Wright, Director of Information and Clinical Support Services said: “We apologise for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause and would like to thank staff, patients and visitors for their co-operation.”
