The Ayrshire LEADER fund stepped in recently to help fund galas in South Ayrshire and they stepped in again at Maybole Gala last Saturday.

After weeks of fantastic weather, unfortunately the rain returned just as the gala parade was due to begin.

Suddenly, a LEADER branded umbrella appeared and provided shelter for the Gala King and Queen of Carrick!

The parade left Carrick Academy at 1pm and made its way, led by Maybole Pipe Band, to the Glebe where the royal couple were crowned by The Marquess of Ailsa, Lord David Kennedy.

The gala was officially opened by Provost Helen Moonie. There was the fancy dress competitions. Audioclass performing live, pony rides, amusements, stalls and games.
