The family of a missing Kilbirnie man are “extremely concerned”.

Police are appealing for the help of the public to trace 66 year-old Thomas Anderson, who is missing from his home in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire.

Anderson, of Eastern Crescent, Kilbirnie was last seen at around 7pm on Tuesday, July 26, by his daughter.

The missing man is described as white, around 5’6” in height and of stocky build with grey hair. He wears glasses and was clean shaven when he was last seen. It is believed that Thomas will be wearing a khaki green moleskin jacket.

Inspector Colin Convery at Irvine Police Office said: “Thomas has never been missing before and it is completely out of character for him to go away not keep in contact with his family, and they are extremely concerned.

“He is a keen fisherman and often goes away fishing, but not without informing his family. He is away in his car – a silver Ford Focus C-Max with the registration number SD54 HCY.

“I would ask anyone who has information on Thomas’ whereabouts to contact Irvine Police Office through 101.”
