Commenting Mr Ingram said:
“Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley has been very successful in previous years and I have no doubt that we have many talented individuals and groups who would be ideal candidates for this years awards.
“Girvan Academy were finalists for the Active Citizenship Award category, Carrick Academy were finalists in the Getting Scotland Active section, and Hillside School in Cumnock were winners of the 2010 Health & Wellbeing category.
“This is a chance to have hard work and dedication recognised nationally and I would like to take this opportunity to encourage as many local schools, pupils, teachers, school staff and supporters to nominate now.
Nominations close on Friday 2 March 2012.
