KIRKMICHAEL Community Shop and Jock’s Cafe has a new manager.
Isi Nimmo arrives at the village attraction having spent most of her working career in London in kitchens, colleges and event management and catering for private parties in the city.
Catriona Haston of Kirkmichael Community Shop was delighted with the appointment. She said: “The good news is that we have appointed Isi Nimmo as our new Café manager for the Community Shop and Jock’s Café.
“Isi comes with a wealth of experience in catering. She originally trained as a chef at Hammersmith and West London College and was then employed by the college as a food technician working in two production kitchens and a training restaurant.
“Later on she she ran the college shop selling excess stock from the training kitchens and creating new products for re-sale to students and restaurant customers, which included creating shop displays, themed and seasonal products.
“Additionally, she has been involved in running events and catering for private parties in London.”
The team are excited at the prospect of working with Isi and hopeful their business will grow over the coming months and years. Catriona added: “She is now firmly domiciled in Dalrymple and we are very excited about the prospect of working with Isi and expanding the café side of our little business.”
