Budding business owners in Ayrshire will get a New Year boost when they are given the chance to learn a range of new skills in a series of free start up workshops this January.
Business Gateway’s New Year sessions are designed to provide anyone interested in starting a new business with the information they need to make the correct decisions and get their venture up and running.
Delivered by a team of experienced business advisers the start-up awareness sessions will cover a range of important issues including assessing the viability of a business idea, business planning, market research, legal structures and tax and VAT.
The Ayrshire Start-Up Awareness sessions will run throughout January at the following locations; Heathfield Industrial Estate, Forbes Drive, Ayr on Tuesday, 8th January from 6pm to 8.30pm; The Michael Lynch Centre, Princes Street, Ardrossan on Tuesday, 15th January from 2pm to 4.30pm and the Park Hotel, Rugby Park, Kilmarnock on Thursday, 24th January from 2pm to 4.30 pm.
“The workshops are a must for anyone thinking about self employment or starting a new business,” said Elaine Kerr from Business Gateway.
“Our start-up events are great building blocks and will set you on your way to starting and running a successful business.
“By attending these workshops, you will be better informed around the process of starting your business, and given the opportunity to arrange a meeting with a business adviser to discuss any specific issues or requirements.
“Starting a new business can be a challenging prospect, particularly if you are looking to take on staff for the first time or set up a venture in premises out-with the home, so we have ensured that our workshop programme will not only help inform your choices but answer any questions you have and provide the help and support you need to get your business off to a flying start.”
In addition to the start-up workshops Business Gateway has launched an all new website (www.bgateway.com) which is packed with information that will guide you through the start up process. Information is also provided at www.facebook.com/businessgatewayayrshire and follow on Twitter @BGAyrshire
