NHS Ayrshire & Arran has teamed up with West FM and Westsound to bring you a series of summer roadshows covering the length and breadth of Ayrshire, from Ballantrae to Largs and from Cumnock to Arran, stopping off at some local highland games and shows.
These events aim to: highlight to people the range of activities currently underway to support and improve the health and wellbeing of our communities; give people the chance to meet members of NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s directors and non-executive board members; and to share NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s newly agreed purpose, values and commitments.
At these drop-in events people can find out about services available from the NHS and partner organisations and perhaps get a mini health check. Members of the public can give us their feedback in a number of different ways, including a ‘Diary room’, and be in with the chance of winning an iPad mini!
West FM’s and Westsound’s well-known presenters will be attending some of the events so why not come along and you may even get the chance to be live on air!
Look out for a ‘Bringing your NHS to you’ roadshow in a town near you in South Ayrshire: Monday 17 June from 10am to 4pm: Walker Hall, Troon; Thursday 27 June from 10am to 4pm: Ballantrae Community Centre; Thursday 11 July from 10am to 4pm: Ayr Town Hall; Tuesday 16 July from 2pm to 8pm: Maybole Town Hall; Saturday 10 August: Dundonald Highland Games; Wednesday 21 August from 10am to 4pm: Carrick Opportunities Centre, Henrietta Street, Girvan
John Burns, Chief Executive, commented: “These events will be a great opportunity for me and members of my senior team to meet the people who use our services and to hear what is important to them. We want to bring the NHS out in to the communities so the public can find out about the NHS behind the headlines. I’m really looking forward to getting out and about speaking to people to find out how we can work together for the healthiest life possible for everyone in Ayrshire and Arran.”
