Police in Girvan have dealt a major blow to the local drugs industry in a series of raids across the town in the past fortnight.
They have closed down no fewer than four cannabis farms and taken around £200,000 worth of drugs off the streets in one of the biggest strikes against cannabis cultivation in Ayrshire in the past 12 months.
A number of arrests were made during the operation. As a result, two local men have already been remanded in custody and a third will appear at Ayr Sherrif Court later this month on drugs-related charges.
