Police witness appeal after A77 crash

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road crash on the A77 in South Ayrshire on Sunday, 30 August.

Around 3.30pm, a white Vauxhall Corsa was driving north on the A77 towards Holmston roundabout when the car appears to have crossed the carriageway and collided with a silver Citroen car.

Emergency services attended and a 73 year-old man and a 71 year=old woman, both travelling in the Vauxhall Corsa, were taken to Ayr Hospital.

The driver of the Citroen C8 was also taken to hospital and was released following treatment.

Enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances of the collision and officers from Road Policing are appealing for any witnesses or information regarding the incident.
