Property specialists launch community bursary scheme

West of Scotland property specialist, Ross and Liddell, has launched its second community bursary programme, which will provide much needed funding to local groups.

Following the success of the 2011 scheme, the company is again encouraging local organisations, in need of financial assistance, to apply for funding.

Last year, 22 groups were chosen to receive money from a pot set aside by Ross and Liddell. The company, which has an offices in Paisley, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee, is hoping that the second bursary programme will be an even greater success.

Irene Devenny, Ross and Liddell managing director, said: “The Ross and Liddell Community Bursary Programme was established to give non-profit groups in the area the opportunity to apply for financial support to help continue valuable work in the community.

“Last year we were able to support 22 groups which have all benefited from the money awarded.

“Now in 2012, we are looking to continue our commitment to local communities and are encouraging organisations and groups to apply to the scheme.

“We are looking forward to receiving applications and providing funding to a range of deserving community groups across Scotland which will help pay for materials and services they may not be able to afford.”

In 2011, more than 150 applications were received from groups all over the country looking for financial assistance.

From those who applied there was a range of groups chosen to receive funding. These included football teams, a gardening club, a cheerleading squad, war veterans and a care home.

Applications are now open and groups can apply for a grant up to the value of £500. In submissions, community groups and organisations are encouraged to demonstrate how their organisation benefits the local community and how the extra funding would support their work.

Groups wishing to apply for funding from Ross and Liddell’s Community Bursary 2012 should visit www.ross-liddell.com<http://www.ross-liddell.com/> to download an application form.

The closing date for applications is Friday, June 29.
